Rhizome

Rhizome is a Greek word that can be translated as root. A rhizome is a type of stem that grows underground and horizontally, giving rise to the emergence of shoots and roots through its nodes. From a philosophical perspective, the notion of rhizome designates an epistemological model in which all elements are capable of influencing the others. This model describes elements that are not subject to a hierarchical subordination; on the contrary, the reciprocal position of two or more elements does not matter: any predicate asserted about one of them can incur in the conception of the others; that is, it does not have a center. The rhizome is also known as antifoundationalism, given that there is no number of principles that derive from the structure of knowledge; rather, they all influence each other and elaborate it simultaneously.
